Celebrating Collaboration in Raising Standards and Protecting Consumers

As the National Home Improvement Council celebrates its 50th Anniversary in 2025, we’re proud to announce TrustMark as our official Knowledge Partner for InstallerSHOW.

This partnership is built on shared values: raising standards, supporting professional practice, and protecting consumers. With TrustMark at our side, the NHIC Knowledge Hub at Stand 4140 will be a space for bold, honest conversations about the future of home improvement and the role trust and transparency must play in delivering safe, high-quality housing.

About TrustMark

TrustMark is the only UK Government-Endorsed Quality Scheme for work carried out in and around the home. Their mission is simple but powerful: to provide homeowners with confidence and assurance when choosing tradespeople and contractors, while supporting businesses that operate responsibly and deliver exceptional work.

They ensure that registered businesses meet high standards in technical competence, customer service, and consumer protection, with regular compliance checks and ongoing support. Whether it’s retrofit, repairs, energy efficiency improvements, or installations, TrustMark sets the benchmark for doing things right.

Why This Partnership Matters

The NHIC and TrustMark share a deep commitment to improving outcomes for both professionals and the people they serve. Our 50th anniversary campaign is centred around four key promises:

  • Protect Promise – Evidence-based, member-assessed standards
  • Purpose Promise – Supporting, sharing, and stepping up
  • Planet Promise – Driving positive environmental impact
  • People Promise – Delivering value and succeeding together

TrustMark’s mission aligns closely with all four.

As Knowledge Partner, TrustMark will help shape several of the discussions happening on the Knowledge Hub stage, bringing their perspective to sessions focused on compliance, consumer protection, green skills, and industry-wide trust. It’s more than a sponsorship; it’s a strategic collaboration grounded in mutual purpose.

What to Expect at the NHIC Knowledge Hub

Held over three days (24–26 June) at the NEC in Birmingham, the Knowledge Hub will feature 12 sessions tackling the biggest challenges and opportunities in the RMI sector.

TrustMark’s contributions will be threaded throughout topics such as:

  • Installer accountability and legal compliance
  • Raising consumer trust in retrofit delivery
  • Skills, certification, and professional development
  • What good looks like in a post-Grenfell, net-zero-driven industry

This platform is about opening up real, actionable dialogue—not just presentations, but shared learning.

A Partnership Rooted in Purpose

NHIC’s Cheif Executive Anna Scothern commented:
“TrustMark is a natural partner for the NHIC. Their leadership on consumer confidence and standards matches our commitment to creating an industry that’s fair, safe, and fit for the future. We’re delighted to work alongside them as our Knowledge Partner during this milestone year.”

Together, NHIC and TrustMark are demonstrating how collaboration across the sector—government, schemes, trade bodies, and businesses, can lead to lasting, impactful change.
