Jon Vanstone
NHIC Chair
Jon Vanstone is recognised as a Construction Industry Competence and Building Regulation Compliance expert. Jon has spent the last 20 years of his career designing and operating competency scheme frameworks within the construction and home improvement impacting at individual, organisation and sector levels.
Jon is currently Chair of the Interim Industry Competence Committee under Building Safety Regulator set up in response to the Grenfell Tower tragedy and was a member of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee for Government from 2018 to 2023.
Jon has considerable experience in home improvement and has chaired the Competent Person Scheme Forum since 2015, as well as being a former director of Consumer Protection body, TrustMark.
Jon is a member of numerous committees relating to competence, construction standards and regulatory compliance. Jon is also Chair of Certass and Certass Trade Association within the glazing industry.
