Anna Thompson

Anna Thompson FRICS C BuildE FCABE is a Chartered Building Control Surveyor and Chartered Building Engineer with over 35 years’ experience in Local Authority Building Control.

Previously Building Control Manager at East Devon District Council and Director of Training at LABC, Anna is now Head of Engagement for LABC.

She works with building control teams, construction professionals and consumers to improve knowledge, understanding, communication and cooperation and help LABC to improve standards and competency throughout the industry.

Working collaboratively with other organisations, including the Local Government Association, other regulators (HSE and F&RS), professional institutions, the NHIC, Constructing Excellence and trade bodies, LABC ensures a strong public service case is made, backed by qualitative and quantitative research.

This has included research on compliance interventions, their social value to society and the public interest in good regulation.
