Good news for home improvers is that Homebase has announced a major redevelopment programme for all of its stores and its multi-channel offering.
According to the company’s managing director, Paul Loft, the programme will ‘see investment in stores and service that offers a clearly differentiated experience.’
Multi-channel is growing by 25% year-on-year, with millions of visitors accessing it each week via the Homebase website.
Loft made this announcement at the company’s
newly-transformed West London store in Ruislip, which recently was the target of an £800,000 refit.
Additionally the Ruislip Hombase incorporates an important concession store for Habitat and continues to be a significant outlet for Laura Ashley. There are kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms embracing popular brands such as Odina and Schrieber, a made-to-measure department for carpets and curtains, plus a new garden advice centre.
Totally wi-fi, at Ruislip there’s also a new decorating centre with City & Guilds trained decorating consultants. They have touchscreen technology at their fingertips and can help customers at the press-of-a-button to transform the look of rooms in their homes.
These consultants will also help customers create ‘moodboards’ using swatches of flooring, tiling, wallpaper and paint materials.
Paul Loft says: “Early feedback from customers is that they love the changes we have made. Homebase offers something very different that customers can’t find anywhere else.”
