Gas Safety Week from 10 – 16 September is being highlighted by Carillion Plc with a special gas safety in the home awareness campaign among its 13,000 employees.
The company is positively committed to the initiative by ensuring that all staff receive literature and information during Gas Safety Week and is providing advice points with its Gas Safe registered engineers at its office buildings around the UK.
It has also launched a discounted gas appliance servicing scheme for all staff members encouraging them to regularly service their appliances, and so avoid possible future disasters. 
Keith Needham, head of technical compliance at Carillion, says: “As a Gas Safe registered business we want all of our employees to know the importance of taking care of gas appliances and using only Gas Safe registered engineers.
“Safety is a number one concern of our business and we want to protect our employees against the dangers of gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning all of which can be caused by badly fitted and poorly serviced appliances and illegal gas fitters.
“We want our employees to be safe at home as well as work, so we are doing everything we can to raise awareness of Gas Safety Week and spread the message far and wide.”
