ElectricSafe register set up to protect home improvers, tenants and landlords

by | Nov 23, 2012 | Uncategorized

ElectricSafe is a new, voluntary register specially set up to recognise competent electricians. It aims to make it easy for homeowners, landlords and tenants to quickly identify, search for and hire a competent, registered electrician.

ElectricSafe has been created by NAPIT (National Association for Professional Inspectors and Testers) as a ‘customer facing register’ which will ensure they always obtain a high standard of workmanship and technical competency.

The ElectricSafe register is a not-for-profit service that is open to all competent electricians to join, accepting members from all DCLG authorised Competent Person Scheme providers operating within the electrical industry.

NAPIT members will be automatically registered for this initiative, which aims to take the promotion of competent electricians to the next level!

Householders are, generally, unaware that since 2005 the electrical industry has been under strict regulation of Part P – the section of the Building Regulations that covers electrical domestic work.

All ElectricSafe electricians meet strict qualification requirements and are assessed to ensure their ongoing competence.
