Carbon Quarter, which organises the All Party Parliamentary Green Deal group, has produced its transcript of the meeting on 11 July 2012 in Portcullis House, and has made comments on the NHIC’s brief news report.
A significant part of the meeting concentrated on a presentation called the ‘Green Deal go early trial’ by Graham Weller, British Gas Head of Green Deal.
Carbon Quarter points out that ‘technically and factually it was not a GD trial but was simply declared as close but not with the key distinctive GD features.’
As the result of factual details out lined in a screened graph, the NHIC report suggested that the British Gas ‘trial’ had been only a ‘modest success.’ But this ‘wasn’t expressed in the meeting or the transcript’ said Carbon Quarter!
The NHIC also reported that the trial was ‘the closest we could get to Green Deal” but the Carbon Quarter transcript actually reads ‘as close as we get to Green Deal!’
Using a bit of poetic license, NHIC referred to the British Gas two-hour customer surveys as being conducted ‘in the parlour’ – the transcript says ‘in their home’.
Finally, the ‘atrocious’ comment did not relate to the British Gas Green Deal trial but was a ‘hypothetical reaction to interest rates of 6.9%.’
Apparently Carbon Quarter ‘does not report directly to DECC’ and there was a literal in ‘genetic’, which should have read ‘generic’.
