We are delighted to share that the National Home Improvement Council’s Parliamentary Luncheon, held on 16th October at the House of Lords, was a tremendous success! 🎉

The event brought together key figures from across the home improvement and repair, maintenance, and improvement (RMI) sector, providing an invaluable opportunity for our members to engage in meaningful discussions with government representatives. We reflected on the progress made by the industry, celebrated its achievements, and set the stage for exciting developments ahead.

Highlights from the Event Include:

  • The presentation of the prestigious Stunell Award, recognising excellence within the industry. We were proud to honour Local Authority Building Control for organisational excellence and Jon Vanstone for individual contributions to the sector.
  • Anna Scothern’s announcement that NHIC will be sponsoring Longwood Maven team member Gemma Marsh for her digital marketing apprenticeship at Nottingham Trent University, showcasing our commitment to supporting the next generation of industry professionals.
  • Insightful discussions on the future of the sector, with a focus on energy efficiency, building safety, and the vital transition to low-carbon solutions for the UK housing stock.

As we look ahead to our 50th anniversary in 2025, the luncheon also marked the beginning of our exciting new campaign, “The Home is Where Our Heart Is”. This initiative will drive industry-wide conversations on sustainability, mental health, and innovation in the home improvement sector.

We would like to thank all our members, sponsors, Recticel Insulation, EnviroVent and CORGI Services, and attendees who made this event a true celebration of our sector’s ongoing impact.
