According to the National House Building Council, buying a new home could be a good financial proposition.
A recent NHBC study found that new homes can be up to 50% more energy efficient that older homes and in today’s market, that could mean a £1300 reduction in annual gas and electricity bills.
The NHBC invests in research to examine new technologies and innovations that could improve the quality of new homes. A recent project examined a system that could reduce the energy required for running a home, potentially reducing household CO2 emission by almost one-fifth, allowing occupants to conveniently and reliably turn off the power to non-essential electrical items whilst they sleep or are out of the house.
Homeowner satisfaction is NHBC’s priority. Apparently on new home customer satisfaction it was found that nine out of ten new homeowners (88%) were satisfied with the overall quality of their home, with a similarly high proportion (86%) saying they would recommend the builder of their home to a friend.
