A special roundtable to consider how an SME-led Green Deal business monitor could be developed by industry has been set up by Greg Barker Minister of State for Energy & Climate Change. The roundtable’s co-convenors are 
The Rt Hon Nick Raynsford MP, president National Home Improvement Council and Tracy Vegro, director, Green Deal, on behalf of the DECC.
The roundtable’s specific focus will be on how to involve small businesses in Green Deal. As part of this it will consider the most effective two-way communication routes in order to encourage and help SMEs participate in the drive to maximise take up by customer groups of the Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation.
Meetings are to take place this month (June) and in July and recommendations to DECC Ministers will take the form of a short report. This will aim to summarise views on how an SME-led Green Deal model would work and the best means of communicating details of Green Deal (particularly the SME-led model) to SME trades.
The main objective would be to produce a one-page summary for wider dissemination on how the system would work in practice. Further details of the roundtable’s prognostications will be available in future reports on this website.
